The Autism Professional Learning and Universal Supports (A+) Project at Illinois State University assists ISBE in addressing the significant behavior needs of children and youth with autism spectrum disorder and related behavior and communication disorders. The A+ Project is currently offering free online professional learning about various topics related to supporting students with autism. Current modules include topics such as Understanding Autism; Evidence-based Practices: Visual Schedules; ISBE Rules for Time Out and Restraint; Functional Communication Training; Functional Behavior Assessment; ABCs of Behavior; and Planning for Personal Independence. Modules are self-paced and take approximately an hour to complete. PD hours and/or certificates of completion are available for completing these modules.
