Congratulations to Ellen Ericson – the 2020 Illinois Foreign Language Teacher of the Year! Ellen, a Spanish teacher at Mahomet-Seymour High School, was honored by the Illinois Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages at its virtual Fall Conference in October. She was recognized for her “tried and true classroom teaching methods” that have led to more students receiving the Seal of Biliteracy and her hard work to implement the new Illinois State World Language Readiness Standards. This award is the first step on the road to the national Foreign Language Teacher of the Year competition. Ellen will represent Illinois in the Regional Foreign Language Teacher of the Year selection process in March. Good luck, Ellen!
